Trash Day

Is "trash day" the day that you put the trash cans OUT
OR the day that the trash is picked up?

I consider "trash day" Wednesday. I gather all the trash from the cans in the house and put the containers outside on Wednesday night. Trash Day.
The trash collectors come to pick it up on Thursday.

What do you think?

Trash Day is the day it's picked up. I only know this because when I lived with my parents, I had to move my car on trash day or the trash truck was going to take out the side of my car. Ohh the joys of living in a cul-de-sac.

Trash Day is the day that the trash is picked up, although we usually put the cans out the night before too.

DUH!!!
everyone knows trash day is the day the trash picker-uppers come...
in your lingo it should change to "the night before they pick up and all my crap better be out there day"...

I would agree with you...the night you put the cans out...but I guess that's because I learned it from you.

I'd call trash day the day that the Latinos drive by to collect unwanted personal belongings. However, I also agree with your version of trash day because I too take the cans to the street the night before after emptying the numerous cans, therefore allowing unknown persons to rummage through the large plastic container looking for "gold." But, being that I have been house sitting in San Clemente for the last 4 weeks, the only "gold" to be found are from two 100+ lb dogs.
