This can be done by realizing that everything is lost, Julie; all things are impermanent. Only when you deeply understand this truth and fully accept it, will peace of mind and – ultimately - “happiness” follow. We can never be completely happy. Suffering and pain come from clinging to those things that can be (and will be) lost. Appreciate what you have while its here, and be thankful for having had it when its gone.
