My friend Karen and I met in first grade! We were best friends--so much alike and inseparable really--through eighth grade, when we went to different high schools. We had run into each other a couple of times--MANY years ago--but had truly not communicated in more than 20 years. Until we reconnected a few months ago on Facebook.Tonight, we met for dinner...and it didn't take long to realize that we are still so very much alike. We ordered the same salad and a glass of Shiraz. We reminisced about our school days (who knew that she had a crush on Kevin Robinson too?) and talked of her amazingly impressive Double Black Belt in Karate! We ordered another glass of wine and caught up on siblings and kids and careers and European adventures! And we promised that we would NOT wait 20 years to get together again...
And, we both agreed that we look a lot better todaythan we did in 7th grade.
