Patrick Quinn

Above, Patrick and me at our 10 year reunion
Below, last year at our 25th
My dear friend Patrick Brady Quinn, is gone
...a life tragically--and needlessly--taken...I am so sad today
The punk concerts, the pogo dancing, the long long rambling--and often cryptic--emails
and OH the Adam Ant songs...("Do yourself a favor!")
PQ had an even better memory than me for useless--yet priceless!--information...
and MAN did he love baseball.
RIP PQ--you will never be forgotten...

So sad. What happened? Was it sudden? He's very nice looking.

Tragically and completely baffling all of us, Patrick took his own life. He jumped from the Coronado Bridge in San Diego this past Thursday.

I knew and worked with PQ for years. I thought the world of him, and know how much people around him regarded him highly and loved him. I am devastated to hear about this. I am sorry for the pain he must have felt. I'll miss him. Bruce Haulley Shanghai, China

I am one of PQ's UCSD friends and I only recently heard he passed away from mutual friend and PQ's HB friend Paul Ayers. I am so sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing your reflections about him. Just a short PQ story: I came home to my UCSD apt. and found a stranger rummaging through my fridge. Shocked, I asked who he was. Well, he said with a genuine, broad grin, I'm PQ, and I'm supposed to meet Paul here. Well, Paul wasn't there yet, I don't know PQ, and he just came in (my dumb roommate left the door unlocked), he was hungry and he found lots of good food to eat for lunch. Also, hey, you want me to make you lunch (with my food!)? With a story and happy-go-lucky attitude like that, how could I get mad? So, PQ became like Kramer (to my Seinfeld) for the next 2 years. RIP, PQ. I bet he's happily making a big mess of "papas and cervesas" up there for everyone!

Oh, I am so saddened! What a sad day this is for me to learn this heartbreaking news. He had a zest for life when I knew him...we lost track of each other and I have been wondering about him for so long. Today I thought I would try to locate him via google and this is what I found :( Thank you Julie for sharing this information and giving tribute to him. It is very sad news but I pray he is at peace!

Hi Julie,

My name is Dana and I worked with PQ at Lee & Associates and was at the front desk when the detective came to our office to share the tragic news on PQ's passing. I am forever changed by this moment and will never forget him.! For some reason today, I was thinking about him and came across your website. In just a few weeks it will be the anniversary of his passing and I will never for him.

I met PQ in 1984. We hit it off right away and we spent a lot of time at Padres games and on the golf courses of San Diego. I just read this posting today and it broke my heart and brought many tears. I love you PQ. Your friend forever.

Yes this is Lee Stegall. Many of you don't know me I could call Dan Patrick when I was a sales rep there you touched my life in 2006 and 2007.. He came to support me at my marathon turn around and June 2007.. you're such an unusual man sich heart and soul for everything that he did and all these people around him.. It's hard to believe that he took his own life.. But I keep a copy of his obituary framed on my bedside and near me all the time.. So remind me important it is to remember how many people wanted us to stay here on this Earth.. When things don't go well and remember how many people love you Patrick I wish we could have told us how much we love you. I miss you much I will see you one day soon but it won't be on my time and when he wants to go. Maybe going to help us all by doing this tomorrow and make sure that we don't pass away so quickly either. God bless you...."Amen Bro"." I love you like a brother", " golf "Chasing Whitey", tennis "chasing fuzzy", " Pump It Up" and Grubbin" it's a "three-sport day today".!... Patrick, I'll see you soon one day every that is your smiling face I'll be there in heaven Peru No Doubt.. My number is 619 669 8543, if anybody wants to contact me here.

I don't know why I am writing this but I think of Patrick most days. He was such a good sole and I always miss him.
