It's a Wonderful Life

Last night Eliane and I watched "It's a Wonderful Life." I have probably seen this movie close to 25 times and know nearly every line by heart...but DANG if I am not sobbing at the end every single time! Eliane and I BOTH had tears running down our faces and we looked at each other and thought pretty much the same thing: WE have a wonderful life. Despite all the problems of day to day living...we are so very blessed to have such incredibly deep and genuine relationships with family and friends.
Last night at the end of the movie--as people are coming in and giving George money with no questions asked--I thought, "I know MY friends would do the same thing...I know they would!" Then I thought..."Wait! They HAVE done the same thing for me! During the dark days of 2005 ALL of my friends and family were there for me! They believed in me! They were there to offer support and love and encouragement to me....Just like the people of Bedford Falls are there for George..." Dang...NO WONDER I cry, huh?
Please take a couple of hours during the next week or so to watch this movie again. I promise it will remind you of what a beautiful and wonderful life you have. And if you have NEVER seen this movie (Josh Treece) I BEG you to watch it asap! It will change the way you see your life and the contributions you have made to the world.
"George Bailey, I'll love you til the day I die..."

Your Mom, my lovely wife, has seen it 125 times, including 10 times in the past few weeks...she watches the DVD version when I'm at work and on TV every other night...the ending is always the same...makes me think a lot of our blessings...
makes me cry too, even while I read a book semi-watching it...
