I'm so happy for you

Please practice saying these words...
"I'm so happy for you!"

And now, every time someone shares with you something exciting that's happening in their life...
please say these words!

Please don't say that you're jealous...or that they're lucky.
Please please please don't say, "Must be nice."(In a bitter, sarcastic way...)

You have no idea what it took for them to get there.
How hard they've worked. How much they have sacrificed to get that point.

Just say, "I'm so happy for you."
and please, learn to mean it.

And, to take it one step further--if you want good things to happen in your life--start making them happen! If you want a new job--start pounding the pavement! Fill out 10 applications a day!
If you want to finish college--sign up for a class--or two or three!--and start GOING to school!
If you want to start traveling--work hard, SAVE UP SOME MONEY and go somewhere!

And, in the mean time, please don't be jealous, angry or envious of others' achievements, accomplishments or adventures. If you find yourself doing this--stop, take a good look at your own life, and make some changes. Please! Only YOU can make the changes you need to start living a better life.

Here's the key: If you want to be happy for others, you have to be happy for yourself.
Nothing comes easy for anyone...everyone has to work for the good things they have.
If you want good things to happen to you...start working toward that goal. And your first goal is to be happy for others.

Julie, this is great advice! You're right about some responses not being quite right, and yet I still say them. ("Lucky!" comes to mind). I'll be practicing...
